Leveraging HomeReport and MBS Highway integration, Cousins looks to close 12–14 refinances this month and strengthen long-term client engagement.
Minneapolis, MN – Mortgage advisor Jamin Cousins is seeing significant success with HomeReport, utilizing the platform to fuel refinance conversations, strengthen client relationships, and deliver measurable business growth.
After previously using a similar platform at his former company, Cousins was eager to implement HomeReport upon joining NEO, particularly due to its seamless integration with MBS Highway.
“We’re huge fans of MBS Highway and that entire ecosystem,” said Cousins. “Having HomeReport integrated with it was a major advantage for us.”
That advantage has translated directly into production. As interest rates shift and homeowners explore opportunities to leverage their equity, HomeReport’s monthly digest has become a powerful engagement tool.
“Right now, I’m closing 12 to 14 refinances next month alone, and that’s not including any purchase business,” Cousins shared. “A lot of those refinances are driven by HomeReport. Clients receive their monthly digest, see a snapshot of their home equity, hear in the media that rates are coming down, and it naturally tees up the refinance conversation for us in a big way.”
While the digest emails may not always generate direct replies, they are delivering something equally valuable: consistent visibility and credibility.
“I may not get a ton of responses to the emails themselves, but the open rates are strong,” Cousins explained. “And almost every time I run into a past client, the first thing they say is, ‘I love those monthly emails you send me.’ It keeps you in front of clients—not in a salesy drip way—but in a way that genuinely adds value.”
Beyond client engagement, Cousins also relies on HomeReport as a strategic tool in the refinance process. When beginning a refinance application, one of his first steps is reviewing the property value within the platform.
“I’ll go into HomeReport and look up the property right away,” he said. “It’s been incredibly valuable. It’s far more cost-effective than ordering an appraisal upfront. Having that data at our fingertips is a big win.”
Cousins has also found success introducing HomeReport to real estate agents, particularly because of its accessibility.
“It’s free to agents, which has been a huge selling point,” he noted. “When we transitioned, we were able to say, ‘We have a new and improved version, and it’s free.’ That’s created great traction with our agent partners.”
With consistent refinance volume, strengthened client retention, and growing agent adoption, Cousins credits HomeReport as a key driver in maintaining momentum and delivering value in today’s evolving market.
“I’m a huge fan,” he added. “You really can’t beat it.”
